Shorty headers?
My car came with them on when I bought it.. otherwise I would have not purchased them myself considering you will likely see about 5hp gain with them. not worth the 5-600$ that they cost for coated ones.
if you have a 98 car.. you might see better gains because the 98 manifolds were a little more restrictive than the 00-02 stock manifolds..
the biggest restriction in the whole system is the cats and Y pipe.. free up those 2 area's and you will gain some nice HP back. For instance.. my car has the hooker shorties.. and used to have the stock Y pipe and cats.. I bought the MAC ORY(off road Y pipe) for stock or shortie manifolds.. and gained a lot of HP.. 13-17rwhp..
my opinion.. keep your stock manifolds.. and get an aftermarket Y with Bullet Cats or ORY.. shorties wont give you what you are looking for.

what year is your car? if it's 98-99 go ahead and i recommend pacesetter shorties coated for around $400 (yes it is bank for shorties) but most shorties are expensive unfortunantly
if you have '00 and up do bother and just pop a nice flowing catback on there
I ran JBA headers into high flow cats into a true dual exhaust and with all the boltons pulled 344 rwhp, so power can be made, you just need a lot more mods to do it.
Best bet is to look for a used set of shorties, because they are going to be expensive, just buying them brand new like that.
BBK makes the only 1.75" primary shorties out there, which should make the most power of all the shorties.
True they dont/wont produce the same amount of HP gain and the stock "logs" on the 02 are pretty good...but I believe the shorties are better flowing..and better is better...and when like me your trying not to max out HP but optimize HP they represent a viable option
