The Metal Intake Thread...
This thread made me a little angry because it seems that everyone who was against the BBK or any aluminum manifold for that matter had "0" experience with them. There's even a post in there that shows where GMHP (I think) posted that the BBK made 10 rwhp and 15 ftlb's more torque than an LS6. Nobody cared they just wanted to yell about heat soak. Take a look. I posted side by side pics, gave temp readings and did everything I could to show the potential of this manifold. I finally just gave up.https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...0&page=1&pp=20

Here is a article that I remember reading a while back that CONVINCED me that metal intakes arent as bad as some people make it seem...Hell, if it was OK for all the carb and early efi guys w/o problems, then it should be ok for us to... here is the article of a FI guy using a Weiand intake:

Maybe someone should post some more carb style intake info in here.
Read a little furthur down...
"the '00 makes 784 ft-lb of torque at 6,000 rpm and approximately 1,100 horses at the same peak! We're quick to point out that this is without a shot of nitrous and only 20 pounds of boost from the twin hairdryers"
In theory, satin should cool better than polished, but probably not a huge difference.
Ceramic coating black on a satin would be "sleeper" and would radiate heat off the manifold better.
Does anybody have any opinion on the above, or is all too trivial to worry about?
My dryshot would cool that sucker down in a hurry anyway, and my main desire is to get the big flow up top my cam (234/240) craves.
Currently on LS6 with a ported/bumpstopped 78mm & PP 243 heads with bigger valves.
