about two years and then the road debris ate the coating off the headers near the collector, basically any part that was lower then the plastic air dam on the frame.

Is your question how long the coating will last, or how long the headers will last? You may lose the coating in lower areas in a year or two, but the headers will last a long, long, time after that.

I remember a few guys on here saying they have had theirs for quite a few years w/o any leaks or problems at all.

having problems is different from having the coating come off, the headers will still function they just wont have the coating that holds the heat in, mine didnt last two years but thats because i drive in snow/salt/rain whatever

depends on where you live and how much you drive it.

if it never sees snow, not much rain, and is usually garaged - i could see them lasting a very very long time.

You should just forget the coating. Paint it with POR15 High intensity. Save yourself the money.

Had about two years on mine with some rain driving. They still looked awesome, they had some minor surface rust which a little WD-40 got off easily.

Have you done this? I want to save the money and buy the non coated Pace Setters but am having a hard time accepting the POR 15 High Intensity can stand up to the extreme temperature. If it is working for you then I'll spend $280 + the POR 15 instead of $425 for coated.

thats a very interesting concept...i used por15 on a brushguard i built for my f250...that **** would stand up to me hitting a sledgehammer against it and wouldn't scratch when running over brush and stuff just for ***** and giggles

I have not tried it but I was going to. If you are going to be driving in rain snow and what not the coating is not worth the extra money

One other thing about the coating though is that it reduces under-hood temperatures significantly. I wonder if the POR15 HI treatment can act as an insulator.

I drive my car daily, and it's seen some pretty nasty stuff. My Pacesetters aren't pretty, but they still work fine after 2 years.
