Default Threw 2 codes....lil help??

i threw a p0161 and p0410. the first is a failure on the rear o2 sensor on the passenger side. the second is a secondary AIR malfunction. on friday i put my lid on which is a 98-99 lid cuz eventually i will be installing my headers and getting rid of my AIR system. so right now i just have the breather tube from my air pump corked with a rag. im pretty sure this is what is throwing these 2 codes but i just wanted to ask a couple opinions. my car only has 6k miles on it so i cant imagine the o2 sensor or the cat is going bad yet.

that should not mess with the o2 sensor. i work at hyundai and we see cars with 100 miles that need o2 sensors

Kinking/plugging the air pump hose or otherwise restricting the air flow when the pump is on will throw the AIR code. If you don't want to buy a cheapo filter to put on the end of it, use a nylon stocking and a hose clamp temporarily to keep it secured.

k, but its just kinda weird that both codes came at once. and they both came after i put the lid on and stuffed a rag in the end of the breather hose.

Not sure if there's a relationship between the two codes without looking them up - if you don't have a Helms visit www.gearchatter.com

I just electrical taped a breather filter on it, then taped in out of the way.

ok , well i think that pegs the AIR code. but would my plugging the hose somehow also cause my p0161 code?
