Default Headers installed

I installed my headers while i am doing my cam swap and much to my suprise had NO problems. I have installed a set of hedmen headers on my friends 01 ws6 and had to notch the k-member and cut off the casting tab on the pass. side of the block. I decided to go with pacesetters and i am glad i did. No grinding or cutting at all!! I have read a number of threads were they people say "i had to jack up the motor" or i had to grind this or cut off that. I did not have to do anything but remove the steering shaft (2 bolts) and they both slid right in with no problems. They clear everything perfectly and would recommend them to anyone looking for a nice header on a budget.

really... that sucks! cutting and grinding!!!
i didn't have to crap but tighten up bolts and remove wires and sensors with the supermaxx system. i highly recommend it. after 40K of daily driving, it hasn't rusted thru yet (knock on wood)

The time issue usually has to do with the persons mechanical experience. For a lot of people headers are the first real mod that they do theirselves, so yeah it takes a while. Others already have an idea of what to expect, so it goes easier. Some people also have the right tools to make it easier as well.

I agree, the right tools are an absolute MUST. Gear wrenches a plus, and keep an eye out for that bastard of a dipstick...
