Default Ls6 intake question

I have a 98 SS. My friend is a GM tech and i'm going to have him order me a intake to hopfully save a little money.

I just need to give him the right part number so he can look it up and order it. Any intake will work off a 01-02 camaro right, so if he orders one of those it should be a ls6 right. I read a different tread and I guess I need these part to install the intake. Front Coolant Pipe(x1) 12581213 Coolant Plugs(x2) 12602540 Gaskets(x4) 12551933 . Is there anything else I need to complete the swap besides egr block off plates? Thanks for help.

sound like you have it right. you should confirm the part # on the intake before you buy it to make sure its the real ls6 intake. also you can get the coolant hardware in a package for like 50.00. those gaskets you need 8 not 4. and yes egr block off plates. i'm getting one soon myself. good luck.
heres the #s.

LS6 intake #s 88894339 or 88890524 or 88890523 or 12561184 or 12573572

I work at a gm dealer and w/ my discount, I would have only saved approx. $5 off of GM parts direct shipped price of like $479 or something like that. The cool thing about the dealer is that they can likely get it overnight.

You could always buy one used!!

Yes sir, they don't last long. Got mine shipped to my door off the F/S Parts section for $300. It had 6k miles on it. Just to give you an idea of what to pay. I've seen them go for $250 also. Gotta be quick with your decision to buy.

You should still have him check his price on the intake b/c he may get more of a discount on them. The "list" that they show on GM Parts Direct is like 740 dollars which is pretty much where the dealer is at before discounts. I dont think he is gonna get you into the used price ballpark though. Im picking up a used one next weekend for a sweet deal of $250. Good luck with the find!!
