I have QTPs. High quality product, beautiful welds and the install was not hard at all. Went in like butter. Clearance is great. I do not have the cat y pipe but i have the off road. And they all come with the high velocity merge collector which owns all

Thanks, looks like Kooks has the majority. I didn't miss out on another valued choice on the poll did I?

I have no experience with the new version of the QTP's but my version installed fine.
The new ones are so sexy looking I don't know how anyone can pick something else.

The reviews about the QTP Y are not the best tho I think as far as clearance goes, although those could be dated.

I would have liked to see solid numbers from identical setups using the Kooks and QTPs. I keep getting messages about the ARs too. Would like to hear more about them, anyone?

if you were getting true duals put on your car, i'd vote QTP. i feel that QTP's are the better bang-for-the-buck header. they're less money than kooks, plus you get the high velocity merge collectors.

however, since you want a y-pipe, i HAVE to vote for kooks. QTP's y-pipes are known to be a problem. they're aluminized first off, not stainless. secondly, they hang VERY LOW. third, they're VERY expensive. the kooks y-pipe is stainless steel and people often GAIN ground clearance over stock! for the y-pipe setup, kooks FTW. if you just want headers and want to either make your own custom y-pipe or go true duals, QTP's FTW.

i wanna say i don't have either of these headers. this is all second-hand knowledge. maybe QTP fixed their y-pipe. i haven't heard any complaints for a while, but i personally don't feel comfortable with a QTP y-pipe until i hear differently.

OK, anyone using the newer version of QTPs Y-pipe? Were these valid complaints and have they been addressed?

I have the ARH's 1 7/8's on my Z28 Awesome fit nice merge connector. We've installed a few sets as well at our shop here on Long Island. For the money i'd get those, we've installed new QTP's the fittment was not the greatest. Here is a link to a good customers car we did ARH's a few weeks ago...

I have heard good things about the new QTP headers with high velocity merge collector. I would go with those or the Kooks.

American Racing's merge collector looks very similar to QTP's.

So would it be fair to assume that the ARs will hang about the same as the QTPs? Or is that only dependant on the Y-pipe? Any AR users have pics on a F-body with catted Y?

You can see tons of pics of my American Racing Headers and true dual set-up HERE

On page 2 of that thread there are also clearance pics!

This thread HERE has a bunch of pics of the headers themselves

You definitly cannot go wrong with American Racing Headers, they build an amazing header!

Why doesn't anyone mention the Edelbrock stainless headers? They have the hvmc and are cheaper than all three of those headers.
