Default Help with Decision on Intake & Throttle Body setup

well i will be installing a TSP Torquer V2 cam ( 232/234 .595 .598 ) with Dual springs in a couple of weeks and decided i might as well add a intake and throttle body to it .What would be a good addition to compliment this setup .Would a 90mm intake and tb be to much or should i just go with a ls6 intake and throtle body .Opinions wanted thanks .

if the cam you have has a high intake duration and intake lift then a 90 tb/ 90 intake will be more benificiary with your cam setup (they compliment one another)

He's stock cubes and were talking about double or more for marginable gains for going the lsx intake route. IMO I would go with the ls6 intake and just port the tb, it's good for 500rwph. Unless your going to spray it won't choke the system. While the intake is out it would be convenient to go get some ls7 or better lifters. Are you going to upgrade the pushrods, double timing chain? A higher lift, aggressive ramp cam puts more stress on these.

IMO you don't need it. It will perform just fine with ls6 intake and stock ported tb. Sure you would gain a few ponies going with the 90/90 setup, but the price to performance ratio is not worth it, at this power level.

The fast 90mm intake with a NW 90mm TB is the def the way to go if you ever plan on getting a good set of heads in the future.

Depends how much money you have laying around. Do you need it? No, but it would gain you some additional hp. and later on down the road if you do heads it would help there too. it is pricey though

Depending on future mods the 90/90 setup would be best. Unless you ever plan on high boost then the 90 fast intake won't work. The LS6 would be best with what you have now.

A NW and Mamo ported FAST will get you about 20 - 25 hp all the way up the RPM curve, cost is something you need to decide but if you compare it to heads it is about the same cost/hp.

Stock cubes or not, the LSX intake is worth up to 35 rwhp at ease. Port the intake and TB as a unit and install it and you will see those gains with ease.

Thats also why we have a bunch of mediocre car owners on this site. You gotta pay to play. Find a good deal and you'll figure it all out from there.

personally I ordered the fast from Ron at vengeance and will be selling my ls6 intake.Sure I could have left the ls6 or maybe put in abigger cam(Tr224) for more peak hp,but I like the low end it puts out.I figured I was putting heads on (Tsp stage 2.5 5.3l) and wanted a little more N/A before I add the juice this spring.Who knows maybe i will upgrade the cam to a 233/239 and wanted too,but Tsp never returned my pm on time before my car whaent to the shop.Bottom line is Hp cost money after a certain level the more you make the more $$$ it will cost,When I add the juice Im gonna need a new rear even though Im an A4 with heads cam fast and 100 shot there is no way around it
forgot to mention that the fast I ordered is ported

Was this comment directed at me somehow or my comment? What do you mean by this?

I was simply pointing out that IMO it's not worth the $1200+ for a 90/90 setup with simply a cam, not even heads. That's crazy, but to each his own.

Its directed at whoever feels guilty about the comment. if thats you. Then its for you. Its a blanket statement and its very true. You shouldnt be modding if price is a complaint. Go buy a old VW Bug or something then complain about price to HP gained. LOL

You are assuming way too much my friend. Who DOESN'T take into account price? I'm not some rich playboy. Whether it's a $150 Throttle Body or $200,000 home, the price of a product is a very important part of my buying decision. Maybe this is not the case for you, and you willie-nillie purchase mods when/if you have money lying around.
