Default QTP LT install *PICS*

with the help of a fellow tech member "Raise," i was able to install my QTP headers last weekend (i actually just passed him tools while he did the work ). there were a few obsacles so the install took 2 full days. Raise was extremely patient and worked on the car as if it were his own. he walked me through every step and gave me enough confidence to do a header install on my own. when i asked him how much to pay, he said to only give him what i could afford; this was very generous. and when i had to leave the car overnight, i came back to a freshly washed car. if there is anyone in hampton roads who needs an honest and friendly mechanic, PM Raise. he has had 4 camaros and can do all bolt-ons as well as internal work. pics are in the following posts.

thanks for the kind words RC. even though we ran into a couple snags, it definitely makes a fun day doesnt it? there is no other way i would rather spend a weekend than turnin wrenches on an ls1 anyway, i got those pics uploaded so ill go ahead and post them. then i will upload the video of the open header cold start. anyway, it was fun and i look forward to spinnin em with u again sometime soon. later bro

oh yeah, and dont worry about your low end power loss, its normal with open headers. once we bolt the x pipe up to the headers, that will give u the merge u need. the backpressure will bring back your torque. u will be stoked!! ill have to smack the grin off your face anyway, take care and keep in touch

as far as the install goes, they definitely took some tweekin to get in, but once they were in, they cleared everything very well. they dont rub or bang on anything that i know of so far. maybe rc will chime in and let us know. the passenger side went in pretty easily once we found the right angle, but we had to get the car really really high for the drivers side to go in. after several times of taking turns from the bottom trying to find the angle, we decided to have one guy on the top and one on the bottom. we finally found a good angle and it slipped right in. one of us will chime back in later and post a few specific tips on the install for those of you considering these headers. but right now i gotta get to work. later

considering i'm lowered, i'm not disappointed with the clearance but i'll still be going to a shop to get the xpipe sections welded and tucked up more.
