Default New pulley kit

I put the asp pulley kit on, for the crank and alt. Ever since then my battery needle is always on the edge of the red. Now I understand why and all, but shoulld I step it up to a stronger alternator? I'm afraid it's going to wear down the battery. Just wondering what everybody else does in this situation.

Most sponsors carry them, and you'll probably need the next size smaller belt (overdrive alternator pulley is smaller).

I've noticed my battery guage starting to go south, but I think my alternator is going south.

Wow that sucks, no problems here with my ud pully. I also have an Electric water pump from Meziere pulling current. I usually make 13.1 volts at idle. No o/d pully for the alt either. Good luck..

I stepped up to a bigger alt and it didn't solve the problem, but definatly helped.

Why not just go back nito teh stock sized alt pulley...most people just (I believe) replace the crank pulley..and they have no problems..

Or am I wrong and they do replace both...Im about to replace mine as well..be nice to know

90% of people only replace the crank pulley and have no problems.

What if I just put the stock pulley back on the alternator? That pulley can't cost me that much hp.

won't an overdrive on the alternator defeat the purpose of the one on the crank?

No, it still works good. It won't slow down the alternator, but it still will slow down all other accessories.

im assuming you got an underdrive pully and underdrive alternator pulley, its hard to tell from the post. So all you should do is put on the stock alt pulley and get a new belt, and if youre still having trouble then get an overdrive pulley. If youre still having trouble then you need a new alt.
