Default what are the BEST exhaust clamps?

For slip on headers to the Y-pipe (Pacesetters). I need something that WILL NOT leak. I hate exhaust leaks!!!!!!!!!!!! I use to used the 3" bus clamps that form around the pipe, yet those leaked.. bastards.

TIA.

i have three stainless steel band clamps like the ones in the last link the guy above me posted. They are not supposed to leak at all. They are heavy duty from ThunderRacing.com and I think you tighten them to 60 ft. lbs. I have one 3" and two 2.5", let me know if you'd be interested at all

i've never had much luck with band clamps no matter how tight i get em...i think my next option will be the v-band clamps as I need to find something that doesnt leak so i can put in my wideband o2

i have v-band clamps on my FLP setup and they do leak when the pipes aren't matched up perfectly, which isn't the easiest thing to do sometimes. I would think band clamps would work better than v-clamps

We use the stainless band clamps here. We put a bead of high temp RTV around the pipe before putting into the other pipe, helps to seal, and also makes removal of the two pipes much easier.

High temp RTV makes the pipes come apart EASIER? I would have thought the opposite, may have to give it a shot.

3 bolt flange or V-band are your best bet.

**** band clamps, they will leak. I have about 7 band clamps in my garage that just sit there because they always leak on any of my setups.

We carry them. What size do you need?

The HD clamps are nice as the nuts are built into the clamp so there is no need for a wrench to hold the nut while tightening.

I believe 4 of them in 3". I just want the best to which they will not leak, so if you wish, please either pm me a total, or you can just reply to this thread.

Thank you!

Band clamps are my favorite if I don't have flanges to work with.

Room Temperature Vulcanizing (or Vulcanization)

Silicone rubber compound used as an all around sealer with differing formulations for different uses (such as high temp etc.)

Any parts or hardware stores should have it, I think I got a couple tubes of Hight temp at Pep Boys myself...
