I answered his question, and it was with personal experience as well. Then I added something to it that could be helpful since he is actually considering flows, maybe this would be an option he would like. So right back to you buddy

My car came with a flowmaster cat back. I removed the slowmaster when I put on my long tubes because I had heard so many horror stories about them losing power over even the stock exhaust. I installed a hooker cat back which I am happy with. I prefer better performance over more sound and I will likely be doing heads/cam setup (unless I ditch the ta for a s/c cobra) which will make my car even louder. I did not actually drive my car with the flowmaster and long tubes, but it did sound pretty good when I started it up just for kicks. For me...it really was a no brainer to get the hooker unless you want an stainless system (magnaflow) or true duals.

I've tried Hooker, Magnaflow and Flowmaster on LS1s. I love the way my car sounds now with LTs, ORY, Cam and a Flowmaster. The Hooker was way too quiet for my taste. Granted, the Flowmaster does not flow as well as Magnaflow or Hooker (I lost 20hp on the dyno thru the muffler vs an open cutout). But in normal driving the difference is unlikely to be felt. Exhaust one is subjective to your taste, listen in person before you buy. I'll eventually go with 1 chamber flows/true duals. Here's an exhaust clip of my car.

I bought a Hooker catback when my car was stock and have kept it through it's different incarnations since then. It has always sounded good regardless of what headers were installed at the time. MY current setup is QTP 1-7/8", 3" Y and Hooker catback. I have a audio of the idle in my sig.

i had a flowmaster before the hooker and the flowmaster had too much drone

and i pickup up like 15 more horsepower at the wheels with the hooker

hooker hands down

and my friends say the my car is pretty loud outside but as far as interior noise is somewhat quiet which is nice when you crusin on the highway

I say is a little quiet interior was but when i stab the gas its pretty loud
all i know is when in the city and i flash the stall i can hear the exhaust echoing on the buildings

Again of the two systems listed go Hooker, but if you want a personal opinion go magnaflow as it is fully stainless and is only about $125 more than the non-stainless hooker catback. Check out the link in my sig for a cammed/header/ory/magnaflow clip
