Mac Mids You think I could get away on a smog test with these mid length headers? The cats are in the stock location so if I do a good job of hiding them, it shouldn't throw down any flags. Also would I notice a significant gain? Thanks

I beg to diffier with you, you cant always pay someone to pass you especially in the emission **** state of Cali. when it is the only way of life that state knows of and tend to try to push on the rest of the US.

I would talk to someone, not an inspector, maybe a lawyer about this: according to the emmissions laws that state you cannot move stock emmission control devices while under the federally mandated 8 year 80k mile warranty (covered by the manufacturer). However after the stock equipment fails an aftermarket unit that performs the same function as the stock unit may be substituted, and that if a replacement unit is designed to work in a non stock location then the move is legal. So, if your car has 80k plus miles then you might be able to argue that Mac's catted y pipe is designed to work with their mid length headers and still stay legal. At least that is what I get from the wording. Thats why you should talk to a lawyer.
