my advise is spend your money on something else... it is good quality but not worth the money.. u can get equal HP gains for cheaper

i dont know if u are new to f-bodys, but you are new to the site so welcome

read this

AIR INDUCTION 101..

there are a few main peices that make up the AIR INTAKE SYSTEM on your car.. LID, MAF, BELLOWS, TB, and INTAKE MANIFOLD

AIR LID- should be your 1st mod without a doubt there are many brands that are good.... SLP is the most common...

RAM AIR- since u are doing the lid u might as well do the FRA (FREE RAM AIR) MOD or u can look into the SSRA (SUPER SUCKER RAM AIR) for larger gains then what SLP offers...

SMOOTH BELLOWS- is a waste of money.. it offers virtually no HP gains, and is more of an appearence mod.. if u are convinced that the accordian style bellows on the now is holding back some ponies u can do the FERNCO MOD but be sure to research this.. many people have claimed cracked air lids after doing this..

FILTERS- A paper style filter is fine. u can get a K&N filter but many people are steering away from them because of an increase of debri entering their engine.. K&N's can be re-used but make sure u dont over oil them or else they can screw up your MAF (mass airflow sensor)

MAF- the stock one is fine... DO NOT DESCREEN it.. many people have problems after doing this and it is not worth the .025HP gain.. it can actually decrease your power... the screen blocks large items (leafs, bees, screw ect..) from damaging the wires in the MAF, and it stops them from entering your intake... many companies offer aftermarket MAF sensors and they are not worth it.. at first your car will seem faster after you install one.. thats cause its gonna be running lean (not good)... your PCM will "learn" the new one after a bit rendering it completly useless..

THROTTLE BODY- KEEP YOUR STOCKER, but PORT that SOB out, or buy a ported one.. this is prolly the best FREE MOD you can do.. dont waste 350 bucks on a aftermarket one.. the ported stocker WILL show a bigger gain with just boltons

INTAKE MANIFOLDS- depending on the year of your car you may want a better INTAKE.. if your car is 01-02 you have an LS6 manifold which is great for a BOLTON car, and even a cam, once you do heads you may want to upgrade that along with getting a larger aftermarket Throttle body... if your car is a 98-00 you have the LS1 intake which is holding back quite a few HP, but is still "decent".. you can pick up LS6 manifolds on ebay, or the for sale section of this site..

remember that mods help one another.. and the faster you bring air in the faster you will need to get it out.. so you should look into some exaust (HEADERS, CATS, Y-PIPE, ORY (OFF ROAD Y) and CATBACK are some terms you should look up...

just be sure to fully research on here before you go spending that hard earned cash.. and if u have any questions dont hesitate to ask...

ohh and all that info is just scratching the surface...

if u already knew all this hopefully somebody who didnt will read this thread..

I also recommend staying away from this (SLP CAI)
piece, it does not consistently lower the air temp
(bad heat soak when no rolling airflow, too close to
the radiator, -raised- my IAT readings against what
the SS hood alone was giving). Not worthwhile.
