What is the warmed up factory idle rpm for our cars?

Mine feels like it's idling too high because when I shift into a gear from park is surges a lot and requires a lot of braking to hold her back. I know the LS1 is fast and all but ****, it's even harder to stop... lol

A4's idle at about 750rpm.....M6's idle at 1000rpm

i have always felt that the car idle fast, especially when im in reverse with my foot off the break

Idle changes depending on the engine temperature. Here is the stock table for M6.

My '01 tried to pull through the brakes all the time when it was cold. Once the car warmed up it stopped. Get a stall and you won't have to worry about it anymore .

I always let my A4 sit and warm up in park for a couple minutes, otherwise it pulls through the brakes.

Probably b/c the roads would be nasty/iced/etc. and traction isn't gonna happen in these cars.

Yeah, warmed up idle is ~1100 RPM the programmer told me he thought it was an M6. I guess that would explain it. It pulls in gear all the time...warmed up or not.

Now its time to adjust the shifter it's all fackerd up.

P.S. I'm starting to like my old LT1 more and more. I could actually get traction...

my m6 idles at 750 when warm. when cold it doesnt even want to idle

Mine has always idled at 1000.....I know of other 98's that idle the same.....maybe it's a 98 thing???

hmm, definitely feels too high. Yours probably idles @ 1k because it's a manual. Auto idle lower because they're better. j/p

i thought it was the other way around. both mine and my sisters M6 f-cars idle around 800rpms and my auto ls1 i had was around 900
