i'm gonna put V-power's in my car when i put my headers in. they seem like the way to go. at less than $2 a plug, you can't go wrong i guess.

Post Ngk V-power

I just installed NGK's V-Power TR55's (gapped at 0.55) and some MSD LS1 Wire set on friday, i just drove about 500 miles right after installing them, runs GREAT!!! (all stock motor, i just got here about 2 weeks ago, mods on the way)

I would recommend a new set of spark plug wires, i had all stock wires and broke 2 wires tring to get them off.

Those are a proven spark plug. I would be willing to say the problem with this situation is the installation.

Why would ANY sparkplug missfire like crazy? Even the retarded stupid Auto Zone Bosch +4 plugs would idle and drive around just fine. The problem was your installation.

Glad the dealer "tuned" your car for those different plugs and got you squared away.

when you buy the NGK TR55's are they pre-gapped at .55 already? or do we need to gap them?

They'll be close to .055", but why wouldn't you check? If nothing else, check them at the parts store before you walk away from the counter.

Well i got them from JEGs and they stated on there website they come pregapped @ 0.59,

i checked them stright out of the little box and they are all gapped at 0.59, just like JEGs states

i gapped them down to 0.55. seems to run pretty dang good.

i have not dyno tested this car, so i cant tell if there is any gain or loss for this gap.

IF ANYONE ELSE HAS A PROVEN POWER GAINED GAP FOR A STOCK MOTOR WITH MSD LS1 WIRES PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LET US KNOW

THANKS

I got the IX's once to try them, and made the misake of doing so while tuning. Fowled them pretty bad, and decided they just weren't worth the extra $$. I've had the V powers in my cars with no issues since day 1.

I vote ac delco's had misfires also with the v-power, switched them out for another set of v-powers same problem. Put in some ac delcos runs smooth.

Guys any debate over acdelco vs. ngk is a little retarded considering the fact that ngk makes acdelco plugs(according to my Napa salesman) so any improved performance was prolly installation, gapping, or lack of quality control in manufacturing related, not brand related

Funny thing about that is my NGK's said made in Japan and my ACDelco's say Made in France. Might want to ask your sales person about that, lol.

lol whats up man. I'm trying to get the car track ready within a month but the tires are on back order. Just went to strictly performance today and had Rob tune out my air pump and rear 02's. woohoo no more SES light

Anyways back on subject, I'm sure a lot of people had good luck with NGK's but I had a bad experiance with them and just wanted to share. If it was limited to one set of plugs it's wierd how it happed to two sets and has happened to other users on ls1tech.
