I work for Johnson Controls, so I can get the Optima batteries for 65-80 bucks. I guess they're a good one to get. I have some generic walmart battery in my v6 for the time being and its never given me any problems. With the 1200w rms stereo and all of the add-ons to the alarm system it doesn't have any problems starting after sitting for a week or 2. Most all batteries now seem to be pretty good, and with their warranty it really isn't bad to get the cheaper one. Just kill it off after 2 and a half years, take it back and get a new one for free.

haha, well i do like the idea of defrauding sears lol....i'll just keep my eye out for sales of the red top ones. if i can find a deal under say $125 ill get it. i just used my friends battery recharger for 7 hours to recharge my dead battery and it seems to be holding the charge (fingers crossed). so i figure that should buy me at least a few more weeks with this one.

I don't understand why so many people run the deeper cycle batteries. I am sure a system might yield one, but my 2 12's would not even begin to think about dimming the headlights when they hit pretty hard with the red top. All you guys with the blues and yellow tops.

Red Top here, 2 different cars, sits all winter and starts right up every spring. Had it 3 years so far. One of these days I should break down and buy one of those battery tenders. I've got the factory AC battery in my 03 GTP and an Interstate in my 98 Regal.

I just picked up a gold duralast for my car with 720 CCA and 900 CA. It has 3 year free replacement and 8 year prorated replacement warranty.
The last battery I had was just a stock replacement and the lights dimmed really bad with my stereo so hopefully this one won't as much. I have 4 subs
