Default Backfiring -cold only

Hi Folks
Posted in the LT1/LT4 but no can answer the question - need help.

The car (97 LT1 - M6) is running well once it warms up or runs for a couple of minutes. The car starts up and runs good, just do not push on the throttle to hard. Get over 2K when first started and the car will backfire at 3K and will not go pass that point. However, run for a couple of minutes down the road and you can push pass 3K without a problem. The wires and plugs are new. My scan tool does not indicate any problems. If I push is hard, the code will be set for Misfire random and cylinder#3. Replaced the injector on three think it might be the problem - not fuel. When a car is cold and backfires, I thought it was lack of fuel. Any thought on what the problem maybe.
thanks
Bill

I had that happen. I put in some good spark plugs and that fixed it right up.
