Default ported my tb

hey everyone, just ported my throttebody the other day and just wanted to see what people thought. Im wondering if i should cut the shaft or not. Ive heard that it makes the shaft weak, but ive seen so many people do it. Here are a few pics of it. Im definately going to do the bumpstop mod also.

Looks good! I cut my shaft, and shortened the screws in my ported stocker, but it probably doesn't make a ***** difference. There's plenty of meat on the shaft to hold the blade, even with just half of it.

Make sure you use some blue loctite on those TB screws. If one falls out, your motor is done.

I would cut the shaft and grind down the end of the screws holding it on as well (every little bit helps out). Just be careful with the bumpstop b/c if you go to far and the TPS reads over 4.71V at WOT then you'll trip the SES light.

looks good, i would also cut the shaft in half. The front half doesnt even have threads so its not hurting to get rid of. I would also do the bump stop mod with the tb on the car and watching the tps voltage carefully. Got to about 4.65 volts and call it good. Check out my tb's and a couple helpful sites.

well just cut off the shaft, and started to knife edge the blade, but it doesnt close right, it sticks when its closed, so i took some sandpaper to the edge, there is a tiny bit of light around the edges, but there was that when it was stock too. heres a few more pics

Yeah for some reason mine always stick after I cut the shaft. I just hold it up to the light to see where the blade is rubbing (usually on the bottom somewhere) and then I'll just sand that part of the blade down a little bit. A little bit of light around the blade is fine. If you port to much of the body and have a lot of light coming around the blade then the car will idle high (I know from first-hand experience)
