Thats odd, I got about a .25 of a second gain with the cut out open.. Do you have a cam in your car ? If you do and if the cam is too big then yes I can understand that happening.
They only come with a cap for inspection day.

1) You need to fix your tune. (90+% of the issues)
2) your cut-out placement/installation is FUBAR. A cut-out should not reduce exhaust gas velocity when properly installed unless install it so far upstream that it messes up your header collectors. Some dual cut-out Y-pipes can effect torque by being too close to the collector.
I was making enough exhaust pressure on the dyno during tuning that I was plugging the air/fuel probe with muffler packing material on every pull. That was with the SLP dual/dual set up. I ended up buying the Hooker just so we could finish tuning and was very pleased.
A lot of you in this thread have zero real world numbers/results to post, only guestimates. A lot of you also claim that all cars will make more power with a cut out, I guess bigger is allway better?
