heat soke . . . . i'm puttin the lingenfelter intake on my 00 SS and i know about the whole heat soke **** people keep bringin up to me . . . isn't heat soak more of a problem for those who 1/4 all the time as oppossed to those who just DD the car?
dont worry about it..search the metal intake thread. i will be installing a 85mm on it and having it ported to my heads. SO GAINS out weigh the bad. especially if i have a nitrous backfire
I like the analogy of a car heater, or a hair dryer, simply running air past hot filiments heats up the air. So obviously your air intake is going to be warmer with an aluminum manifold.
Would I worry about it for a street car? No. It's probably not costing more than a few hp, and unless you drag race and need to see every little last bit of hp, I wouldn't even worry about it.
