Default Stock ported TB's? Any difference?

I am looking into getting a ported throttle body for my car. Is there any signifigant difference between any of them? Katech/SLP/TR/etc.? Right now I am eyeballing the Katech/SLP cause they can be had for right around $200 and there is no core charge.

You can just have your stocker ported by new era performance for $75.

Not to mention this is one of the most talked about mods. I think you should search around and see what you come up with. Lots of people on this board can do it for you too. Im not saying who, but you can find it.

I know that I can get my stock one ported for less $. But I am not in a situation to be able to do that. I am in Iraq, and I want to have everything I need for my current project sitting there waiting for me when I get home. That is why I am wanting to go with purchasing a stock TB that is already ported. This will be going on along with LS6, cam, LT's, and a whole mess of other stuff. If I could take mine off and send it to someone, I would, but my car is 10,000 miles away from me.

Same boat here! Just purchased an intake manifold and injectors and am thinking about a ported TB but haven't decided yet. I've thought about trying to get my little bro take my TB off for me while I'm gone and have it sent somewhere, but I'm not too confident. Other than that the options seem to be more expensive and limited. Some claims advertise a 6-12hp gain on a stock port job, but who knows. If that's true it's not a bad deal. Best of luck to you on whatever you come up with. I'm in Balad right now, stay safe wherever you are.

I'm at Balad. I am just trying to figure out between the SLP and the Katech, which is better (flow wise), or if there is any difference at all. They only cost about $3 difference. Where are you stationed back home? Sitting at home right now waiting for me:

LS7 Clutch package,
LS6 intake manifold,
TR224/224 112LSA cam package,
Spohn solid motor mounts, poly trdans mount,
NGKs,
American Racing Headers long tubes, y,

basically a lot of parts, only thing I still need is a TB.

I just recently got out and took a contractor position over here. I'll PM you directions to my office if you want to stop by sometime. From what it sounds like most TB's yield about the same results, so I'm trying to find a way to get mine ported.

I just paid for the TB port from new era, have to mail mine in now. They say they port and ship it back out same day, so it still could be an option for you. You can ship it out while you are doing your cam & LT's.
