I agree that they should be trimmed a LITTLE, however I think that if they were flush, they would be too hidden to give off the super unique presence...I think what might look cool (and don't hold this to me because I've never seen it done) is if you trimmed them a little shorter in the front and left them maybe 1/2 inch longer towards the rear wheel. Maybe even a less drastic slope than that, even. That way it might look sharper, while letting it be semi-shorter, but still long enough in the rear to keep soot off of the car. Does any of that make sense? It does in my head...it's hard to get it out in words.
