I've had the hedman's uncoated headers on my car for two years now. Great headers for the price. They're 1 5/8 stepped to 1 3/4. I would recommend them, they fit really great, only issue I had was I had to beat the floor pan a little on the driver side to get the flange up. Wasn't anything crazy just needed about an 1/8th of an inch difference to get them up and in. The y-pipe they sell is an ory. I don't see anyway you could use the stock cats like jegs says. I would look around from the sponsors on here and sometimes in the group purchase section for the pacesetters and see if you can get a deal on them, as they're 1 3/4'' headers and not 1 5/8'' stepped. Leaves you a little more room to grow, but probably only a 1-2 rwhp difference. Hope this helps some.

If you ask me Pacesetters are #1 for value. For the price...the fit and finish is great!

Pacesetters. It's really the only right choice for a budget header. Some say XS, but the fitment is hit or miss from what I've read. Play it safe, go with the Pace's.

I have them in my 98 formula with tsp 5.3 heads, ported fast 90/90,tr 224/112 cam. car is an A4 with a TCI 3500ssf. puts down 417rwhp 407 rwt(corrected).Uncorrected it put down 424rwh. I'm making decent power for an A4 with a small cam,so I dont plan on swapping them out til i need 1 3/4stepped to 1 7/8 hedders for larger cubes
