anyone got eletric cutout switch pics?

Pardon my ignorance as I have virtually no knowledge of wiring, but the wiring that comes with QTP cutout looks like it would only work with the switch they provide given the fact that part of it connects with a mini-jack.

How difficult is it to "undo" the standard QTP wiring so that the cutout can be operated with a convertible switch?

Correct me if Im wrong here...but the wires basically just get reversed to make the motor change direction. So really, all you need is the wiring diagram for the vert switch which was posted alittle while back. Then Just use the two wires coming from the cut out itself to hook it up. Those types of switches use the same two wires as outputs. When pushed one way, wire "A" is positive and wire "B" is ground. When pushed the other way, Wire "A" is ground, and wire "B" is positive.

So basically, find the two wires that come from the cut out (mini-jack) wiring, and just start with those. The rest of the wiring you figure out from the diagrams for hooking up the vert switch.

i'll see if i can get some pix of a install i did on my homeboy's car. installed it right under the cig lighter splicing into the TCS harness behind the radio bezel. used the stock switch supplied with the cutout, so it lights up all pretty colors and stuff lol. i'll try and get some pix also of where i welded up the cutout and the motor location to give you all the whole shabang!!

This was on my '99. I had the Borla QTP plate. I ran the wire through the shifter boot and used the recommended pink traction control wire for power. I put it there for easy access and it never got in the way (maybe because I'm 6'2").

Whoever suggested using the cig. lighter might want to reconsider. You need a switched 12v source. I believe the cig. lighter is a full-time 12v source. The little light on the end will always be lit and could drain your battery down over an extended period of time.

Hard to believe, but that light sucks down juice if you don't run your car for a week in the winter. Definitely switch that sucka...
