Default Will an LS6 intake make a differance with my setup?

My 2000 WS6 has an SLp lid, ported throttle body, headers, no cats, Comp 228/230 cam, all with the stock LS1 intake. I bought an LS6 intake for it but haven't got it put on yet. Will I feel any gains with this intake?

With your mods, you should see a nice gain. I got 20 or so hp with it.

15rwhp for sure. That mild cam will probably help a lot with that new found power by adding the intake.

Not to hijack but what steps can be taken to not break it (oil sending unit). For those of us who haven't done it yet.

I have had my stock intake off 2 times without any problem. I could see that it would be easy to break it. Just don't let the intake slam to the back against the oil sender.

When we took off my ls1 intake, we just yanked it out and broke the pressure unit, just take your time and look for the connection at the back of the engine block

People let the brake booster hose hang on it and break it off. Make sure you lift the back of the manifold up as high as possible before trying to move it forward. It takes a bit of force, and I suspect people just get too excited and start pulling hard. I've removed all 3 of the manifolds I've had on the car at least 12 times, never broke it.

If you follow the booster line from the booster to the manifold, it will be on your left sticking up with a plug clicked into the top.

Just be careful and take your time...you'll be fine.

Double check to make sure you have all the connections taken off the old intake, lift it up while holding the bolts up...and you should be good to go.

I've had mine on and off probably 5 or 6 times now and it's been fine every time.

The LS6 intake will also help the car run smoother.

You should get a nice top end rush, and a bit of midrange.
