Default Just installed ASP pulley>>

This was a pretty easy mod. Took about an hour (20 minutes of that pulley in oven). I used a Matco 1/2 inch drive ratchet that was about 28 inches long, a matco pulley puller, and a torque wrench. I also had a pulley installer that a buddy of mine fabbed up. I'd recommend this to everyone that hasn't put one on yet. The oven trick worked awesome. The pulley slid right on. Felt like the car picked up a little, hopefully 7 rwhp
to get me to 360 rwhp on bolt on's. I'll be going to the track Saturday to see the gains since last year.

PS I had to use the 760 belt. The 755 was to short with my Katech tensioner.

Oven trick does work great. Mine went on so easy, I thought I had the wrong pulley.

Any problems with the ASP pulley throwing belts?Im debating on the ASP or the SLP/Powerb pulley. Think I can get the ASP for $190 and the SLP for around $220,so if there an equal peice Id go with the ASP.

Mine hasn't come off, but I haven't had it on but a few hours. I have a Katech tensioner as well. Lots of people use a shorter belt than I have without an aftermaket tensioner, but I used one that is about a half inch longer.

Mine has never come off (ASP pulley) in 18k miles. I've always shifted mine at what I thought to be 6600, but after some run logs, it turned out to be about 6750-6800.

I'm on the stock 128k mile tensioner with Autozone duralast belts too.

the ASP pulley has held up in my 503rwhp car for almost 1 year, and still going. i had to change the belts a couple months ago because i hadnt changed it in a while. but it wasnt the pulley that wore the belt out. just use

huh, how does putting a pulley in the oven help you install it? couldn't doing that damage it?

Expands the bolt hole IIRC.

how hot/how long are ya'll putting them in the oven for? I don't want to damage my new front seal.

Also, how do ya'll keep the pulley from moving when you torque the bolt down? My pulley is solid one-piece, no holes in the front or back.

I left mine in for about 20 minutes. I used an install tool to put the pulley on, not the old bolt.

Have heard they are the same pulley. SLP just stamps it with their logo & marks up the price. Which is about right with SLP now days.
