am i retarded or am i the only one that sees that the line is completely unnecessary and can just be capped off on both ends?

only thing i can think is that if air gets into the part where that T is it would probably kind of stick there because it's a high point with no escape (if the T and the return to the radiator were capped)

Don't cap it...it is how the system bleeds off air bubbles (as it is the highest point). If you cap the line, the bubbles will have nowhere to go. Pump cavitation and air pockets in your cooling system are not things you want. Either don't be lazy, or don't do it.

that's not laziness... im trying to figure out exactly how it all works and what its for, i'm feeding my mind before i go do something... i dont want to cap it out of laziness, i want to cap it because it would look better and delete an unneeded hose. it's just as easy to add a hose as it is to cap the nipples.

i dont know how true that really is about the air, but that would be my only guess as to why such a hose is up there.

You could get creative to make it look better:

About the most expensive TB bypass you'll ever see...

i do need to put an elbow there... my turbo exhaust is mighty close to that hose as it comes straight out... i put some heat tape around the hose and wrapped the exhaust but still too hot for my comfort that close to the hose

you must have been bored that day or just had some spare braided hose and fittings laying around or something... none of the other hoses on your motor are SS
