Bigsticksupra,
This new lid has a lower profile to help with the rubbing issues that the old lid had on some of the WS6 and SS cars in the past.
Thanks

Did you call us up and let us know that it was damaged in shipping? Please pm me some details on the scratched lid.
Thanks
Hank

With the hair dryer the MAF slipped on with no issue. Without the hair dryer and with WD-40 it took me about 2 1/2 minutes to get it in.
As for the plug. If you try and jam the plug in and bend the edges that is when it becomes difficult. Take your time and line it up in the center of the hole by looking from the inside of the lid before you install it. This needs to be a tight fit as well as it needs to be air tight.
Again, sorry you had a hard time.

What is the purpose of the plug? Does it just act as a crack inhibitor by acting as an impact buffer?

In 2000-2002 with air injection the plug is not used and an air hose connects to the hole in the side of the lid. That is why on 1998-99 cars you plug the hole as these cars do not have air injection.
Thanks

Carlos,
Did you call anyone here at SLP in 2005 when you received the lid?
Thanks

Yes I did call somebody when I bought the lid back in 2005, but I never did get a response, but besides the scratch I love the way it looks and the fitment of the lid, and knocked a one tenth of my 1/8th mile time.

Please make sure you contact me first if you decide to order from us again. I will make sure you get a "better deal" because of the lack of response from us on the scratch.
Hope this will help a little.

If i took my A.I.R. system out, should i order the 98-99 lid or just stick with the 00-02 lid? my car is a 2000 and has the hose going into the stock air box but i am taking the A.I.R. system out, so the hole is no longer needed. Thanks

I really didnt like how tight the fit was. It was bitch to get that lid over the MAF (I didnt know you guys changed the design and you had to heat it up) and now you have to pull the the clamps down pretty hard on the lid. Just doesnt feel right. Ill try messing with it sometime this week to see if I can make it fit easier.

Turbowhistle86, I know this will not help you now, sorry.
Thanks

Yes order the 98-99 lid if you are not running A.I.R.
No, sorry but no plans to come back with the CME. We ended up killing it because there was not enough sales or interest in that exhaust system.
Thanks
