as far as i know, SLP is the only LT's for the LS1 f-body that are tuned length. and the fitment/clearence sucks.

Buy based on material/fitment/cost, not tuned or untuned. Nearly all 1-3/4" headers make the same power, "tuned" or "not tuned". The "tuned" portion deals with the way the exhaust pulses hit the collector and promote correct scavenging. If you're in a limited motor racing class, have tons of room under the hood, and are looking for that extra hint of possible HP, tuned headers might be the right choice. Not the case for F-bodies.

A true tuned header would be a header that has a certain primary length, diameter that matches a certain combo. Once you change that combo it isnt tuned to the car anymore. And im not refering to PCM tuning.

It uses the venturi principle. Fluid flowing through an area causes a low pressure outside the stream, sort of like a carb. Air flowing past the jet causes fuel to be sucked up through the jet and mixed with the stream. This means the opening of the jet is at a lower pressure than the fuel in the bowl. This difference in pressure is the motive force for the fluid movement.

Ever stood in the shower under the water, then stepped outside of the water? As the water around you stops flowing down your body and hauls *** straight to the floor, the shower curtain sucks in toward you. Step back into the stream and it subsides. Try it in the morning.

In headers case, the exhaust coming out of one primary into the collector is supossed to create a lower pressure in the other primaries. If you make them the right length, you'll have pulses hitting the collector at equally spaced times.

he was talking about tuned header ports, lol. Anyway even with a PCm tune 25HP is highly unlikely.

You sure? I got a buddy that wants that "smooth sound" tuned headers give... anyone here know if this is still possible with tuned headers (if Edelbrocks are indeed tuned length headers) and a Y-pipe setup?
