Default SLP ZL402 hi compression

How much power do you think an SLP 402 is going to be able to make running the parts in my sig minus the cam. The cam is going to be in the 240's to 250 range in duration .6xx/.6xx lift range. Not sure on the cam, waiting on Louis' final opinion on what should go in.

For those who don't read sigs here is the list

AFR 205's 59 cc, ballpark cam (see above), LG's pro longtube headers, ported 90 mm FAST, 90 mm Nick Williams, Meziere EWP, ASP u/d pully, and will the 30# SVO ford racing injectors be enough? Hoping for a solid 500+ rwhp and around 500 rwtq.

I know a lot depends on the cam, I just don't have the final cam info yet. All 402 owners please post up, need to know what kind of power you made using what setup. Anything you'd change if you could do it again?? Thanks

Default 550 Rwhp & 525 Rwtq

Hi to a fellow '00 FRC owner!

Based on what I've been seeing, my money is on at least 550 RWHP & 525 RWTQ with a cam in the 240+ range. That's a nice setup you have. I'd be real interested in the cam recommendation you get.

I also have a SLP ZL402. I hope that I break 500/500 with L92 heads/L76 intake. The cam is a Patrick G. custom grind. The heads (bowls and exhaust cleaned up/milled .030) will be ready tomorrow. The SCR should be 11.2 and the DCR 8.4.

I'm expecting my cam from Thunder Racing today and the Caddy lifters from SDPC in about a week or so. I'm getting a tune from Charlie @ RPM (by mail). I'll get it dynotuned after I run it for a while.

I might take the 4:10's out and put the 3:42's back in.

Good luck!!!!!

Would someone with an SLP hi compression 402 please chime in. I'd love to hear what cam you are running, and what kind of power your setup made. Thanks in advance...

I see no reason why the SLP shortblock would be any different than any other 402 shortblock with simiar compression and specs.

This may help some when he posts his results.

Here's my 402 setup, also in a Z06-

https://ls1tech.com/forums/corvette-performance/610818-finished-my-402-ls2-build-my-01-z06.html

To do over I'd probably go with a bit better idling cam-changing my LSA to a 112 or so would be better. I might try a different one soon.
The GM Hi-Po lifters are a much better deal the the Morels I bought.
Everything else I'd keep the same.

I'd say you might need a bit more injector, I'm running 42lb racetronix.

Do you have a local tuner??
Get over to Woodward much? I'll keep an eye out for ya!

SLP 402, AFR 225 65cc heads; 228/230 @ .591" Comp Cam; LG Longtubes w/ high flow cats; Factory LS6 air box, TB, & Intake. Great tune by Rick @ Synergy!

Hope this helps you get some idea. Your heads are smaller, but the your choice of cam is more radical. By the way, the graph incorrectly states flywheel, but it was a chassis dyno. Also, don't let the scale of the graph fool you, it is not peaky power. If you doubt me, plot the numbers against any favorite dyno chart you have and you will see that the numbers equal a very broad torque curve. Rolling on the throttle at 75mph in 3rd gear in my '02 Z would break the tires loose. 3rd was good for 102mph.
