Default hooker exhaust

hey.
I jsut installed the Hooker cat back system on my 2000 WS6 and its not loud at all. it just sounds stock still. i have a stock Y-pipe and headers though. would that be why it still sounds stock ad is there a cheap way to make it louder?

thanks matt

The cheapest way is to gut your cats. Even then, it won't be very loud. You bought a quiet catback.

Somewhat. My GMMG with stock manifolds and cats was MUCH louder than my buddy's car with LT's, ORY, and Hooker. The Hooker was still quiet in normal driving but sounded really good at WOT.

You need to put some LT's and ORY to get the full effect of the system. I was just like you at one time and thought that it wasn't loud enough. I added some LT's and a ORY and haven't looked back since.

hooker will liven up a little bit once it breaks in a bit and alot with headers and ORY

Here's what mine sounds like with pacesetter LTs, Pacesetter ORY, and hooker catback

http://video.ls1tech.com/search/fire...9a0465175a.htm

Its the perfect volume w/ headers and ORY IMO. Enough to draw attenttion when you want it and enough to be quiet when you need it.

As said, it will get a little louder over time. Get an e-cutout and turn up the volume.

Everyone complains my exhaust is way too loud at wot, i have a hooker cat back, ory and lt's. I'm h/c also. Its pretty raspy, but not bad inside.

I think the magnaflow is a little louder with a similar sound and flows pretty similarly too.
