Unfortunately Ive never heard of this mod. I THINK I might have it though. Does anyone have any pics? By the way, if I do have this mod my lid is cracked on both sides.

I tried the fernco and through it in the trash. I didn't want to deal with it. Silicone turbo couplers work great.

i had a fernco for 2 years with a slp lid and it was fine. I just replaced it with a slp smooth bellows when I did my ls6 intake swap. The slp looks like it will flow better than the fernco

I ran a Baker silicone hose on mine for 4-5 years before my lid cracked. However, I am not sure the hose was the cause and the Direct Flow lid I had was much more ridgid than the SLP I have now - I don't expect to have a problem with the SLP but time will tell.

Fernco seels just as good as any other bellow. I can see the ring on each side of the fernco from the MAF and the TB. And while it may not at any performance gain, it sure as hell looks a lot better under the hood than the stock accordian piece.

ACE hardware carries a fernco type coupler with thinner walls making it more flexible and easier to deal with. One advantage of a rubber coupler is that you can heat it to fit different size openings.

IMO it's worthless. Still running the stock bellows on my car.

how long of a piece is needed? ive seen silicone pieces 1/3 the price of the slp piece and looks the same but you can get it in red blue and black, but they're 4inches is that long enough? also how big does the ID need to be? 3" or 3.5"?

It is worthless...I had one for a while and it was just too tough for my lid. I think that if I didnt switch back to stock I would have a cracked outlet for sure. And solid mounts do help a bunch.
