If you're talking about the Mufflex hanger it fixed my banging perfectly.
I got under the car to see where the least clearance was. I used a pry bar to move the exhaust down about 1 - 1.5" at the tightest spot and temporarily put an old exhaust hanger rubber in between the y-pipe and that spot.
I then put the Mufflex on and got it tightened. Then I removed the exhaust rubber I had put in between the pipe and the floor and I have not had problems since.

Fix it right. The mufflex is a bandaid. Spongy soft factory mounts are the issue. Replacing the driver side fixed my y-pipe bang, I've since done the other side as well as the trans mount. Let it go long enough and it will be your headers banging on acceleration and deceleration.

lol, I didn't. I stuck some heater hose wrapped in header wrap in-between to stop the actual banging, so it still hits but it's cushioned now. Although I think my y bangs in a different spot then most, Mine practically touches all the time right where the collector goes into the cat, so that first floor brace. I specifically told Stainless Works this had been a problem with others I had spoke with and to make a note while making my headers to look out for this, but they obviously didn't 
. The headers themselves are the actual problem, primaries have to much bend in them, angling the collector up, making it way to close to the floor. I want to add poly mounts to fix the problem once and for all but I'm scared they will raise the motor some and make the problem even worse

Motor mounts are the only to fix it, Like stated before everything else is just a band aide. I used some heater hose and it has worked well for me. Mounts are not expensive at all, its just hard to find the down time to install them
