Borla all the way . I love the fact that you have the option of adjusting it if you want to. The tips are especially tough looking and set off our F-bodies nicely.

They are not too tough to keep clean. Every once in a while you want to hit them up with some Mother's metal polish or the Eagle One Never Dull.

IMHO, Borla. Like most everyone has said, adjustability makes it desirable. I think those people who think they have a lot of rasp have only heard one with the cutout open. It will rasp a bit, even with cats' and LTs, but if you close it, you don't loose a lot of power, there's no drone, and it sounds really tame, even when you get on it. It get more drone with manfolds than I do with the LTs and catd' Y-pipe. To me, it's selling point was the tips and the adjustability. If you don't like rasp with LTs, close the plate until you get to the track. I think I could guarantee those who complain about rasp with Borlas have not heard them with it closed. I like the tips a little better too. They don't stick out as much as Corsa does from all angles and they don't take much effort to clean either. If you spend a couple minutes cleaning them everytime you wash the car, they'll never require a lot of maintenance.

Borla with a QTEC (or other E-cutout) and you'll be very happy I think.

corsa, DEFINITELY. no doubt about it. i have very strong feelings for the borla catback. i think it's one of the biggest wastes of money out there. i think the tips are hideous and the sound it produces are as close to a motor vomiting as possible. i saw a black WS6 with one once, and i hung around just to hear him pull away from the stoplight. i don't know if he was running a partially open plate or anything, but the thing sounded disgusting. it made me understand even better why mustang guys rag on the sound LS1's make so much. it just sounded terrible.

the corsa is as close to a corvette sound as you'll ever get on an f-body. i have my cutout open all the time. at light throttle, you get about 2/3 raw sound, 1/3 corsa sound. at WOT, since the exhaust gases accelerate and largely bypass the cutout, i get about 2/3 corsa sound and 1/3 raw noise. it sounds pretty good IMO.

for all the people out there that bought the borla for the adjustable plates, you could have gotten an electric cutout. you'd have even more control at the flip of a switch and not have to deal with the horrid noise the borla catback emits spending $800+ for a manual cutout is senseless. i got mine - installed - for $45, and it's stainless steel.

sorry to offend you borla fans. the borla sound is VERY unique. it's definitely a love/hate sound, and i hate it.

If it were my opinion, I would go with Borla. I say this because I absolutley love the sound and adjustability is a plus. But thats my take, here it first on a car, then decide.

I bet the car you heard had no cats and LT headers. You seem to know, better than anyone, what no cats do to the sound of any cat-back out there.

BORLA. FTW. I have it on stock manifolds and y-pipe and it soulds great with open plate, NOTHING but deep, low rumble, not that loud at all. NO RASP on stock man and y-pipe. I love it. And since I dont plan on getting headers or removing the cats I'm happy with the sound of my car after lisening to some of the cars on LS1sounds which are raspy as hell. I'm not as outspoken here as others, but I know a good sounding car when I hear it, and CORSA is just to loud for me, to each is own.

i strongly doubt it was on anything but stock manifolds and cats. it was far too quiet. i never said it was raspy. i never said it was loud. the tone was just disgusting. if i were to venture a guess, i would guess it was running either no plate or a quarter plate. it just wasn't loud at all. i just absolutely hated how it sounded. it was unlike any sound i've ever heard an f-body make. it honestly sounded like the noise a person makes when someone throws up. it wasn't raspy - it was a very clean puke sound.

as for "i know a good sounding car when i hear it" - that phrase is meaningless as it's nothing but an opinion. some people like the sound of an inline 4-cylinder with a fartpipe. sound is completely subjective. borla is probably the most unique sounding exhaust out there and there are a lot of people that don't share your love for that unique tone. i'm one of them. this is one of the reasons why most people around here don't run borla. it's expensive for the tone you get, and you have to really like that tone to spend $900 on an exhaust.
