Default Lost alot of my low end after MAC header install

Currently ORP (no cats)

I have a Yank 3200 TC and I used to just roast the tires at full stop. Now it is mych less dramatic.

Bummer, I didn't expect to lose that much.

Normal?

your TQ should certainly be higher unless something is not going right. the free flow = less TQ is an old school misconception with high flow headers. put it on the track or on the dyno. you will be happy with the results. it will just SOUND like you lost TQ due to hearing the exhaust more. them motor is not working harder.

it just "sounds" that way cuz you get more sound and the load is not as great on the engine. get track times and dyno numbers youll see. i thought the same when i got my grotts on but after track and dyno i was like "holy ****" thats great i gained about 20-25 lbstq with the long tubes.

Thanks for all the input, It *is* very loud.

The Carsound Cats will be here Tuesday.

That should quiet it down so I can tell better. even if I lose a tenth it will be worth it.

I have a Dyno scheduled, I too, am curious to see where I am at.

Great group here,

Thanks again.

I got the mac headers and off road y-pipe put in this past weekend.

At first I felt the same as you but over time, it is the sound that messes with my head. I have no muffler right now but it is the loudness that makes me feel I am gong slower and do smaller burnouts. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Check for leaks. Gaskets too.

NO way should you lose power.

Sounds like a bad "Seat-O-Meter"

Its not that you lost torque but rather that your overall torque curve just moved up with the addition of your new free flowing aftermarket headers. Think of it as your powerband is a little different or has changed a bit(but for the better!). I had the same problem with my old SLP LM exhaust and I hear this common misconception all the time. Besides, you may have a point since the midlength headers aren't really supposed to improve low-end torque like longtubes do.

I gained a ton of low end.
Don't put out the verdict yet unti you get the cats put in and some miles on the car.

your are at the point in # of mods to seriously look at getting atap so you know whats going on with your car. you may benefit from a MAFT or Computer tuning at this point.

something is not right.
I gained a lot of power/torque down low with the MACs. I would get an ATAP and check it out.
Something is out of whack if you say it is that bad.

Top End is way up there, not enough highway to test it!

Maybe you can't hear the tires spinning?

I know mine would just roast after I got macs; the tires didn't make any noise at all.
