Will gutted cats void my warrenty?

Will gutted cats void my warrenty? I recently gutted my cats and need to take my car to the shop for some engine work. Do you think they will void my warrenty? I dont have o2 simms so they will detect a thrown code.

But sometimes the service guys can be cool. My service guy told me I can put any SLP part on my car I want (Bolt on wise)...So it varies dealer to dealer

Re: Will gutted cats void my warrenty? Even if you reset your PCM there's a good chance it will throw a code while there. Like already said it depends on the service dept. BTW, I had warranty work declined due to an installed line-lock. Some of these guys can be real ******.

THere is a good chance more than 90% that it will void your warranty and you have to remember once the warranty is voided there is no getting it back if there really is something seriously wrong with your car. THey were going to void my warranty because of my stereo wire one time but I had to lay the smack down <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Re: Will gutted cats void my warrenty? Hell ya they can void the warrenty for that, will they thats up to them. Tappering with the stock or factory emissions is illegal in the US but only few states actually enforce it at inspections. Even relocating the cats unless the original failed is illegal. But I took my car in to the dealer becuase it wouldn't start and they noticed the SLP LT's and Race Pipes and asked if I gained any power with that. Then I signed my papers and drove it home. It was covered under warrenty. Not the headers though, if they caused the problem then they will void it (normally just that part but only taking it in will tell)
