Ahhh! No A/c!!! So I'm driving along, A/C on full blast, when all of a sudden it gets hot. No longer blowing cold, but warm. Sooo, I checked frion, check. Tried a refill w/ r-134a or whatever, check. Now what? Everything seems fine, minus the no cold air part?!? And I hear the A/C kick in, so I know its engaging....any help? Florida tends to get a bit hot, believe it or not....
Did you get a gauge with the recharge kit? Readings?
Put your hand on the low pressure side line (low pressure service port) with the engine running and AC on. Is it cold? Cool? Warm?
Finally, inspect the AC compressor clutch. Does it cycle? How long on and how long off?

The a/c compressor clutch is engaging and disengaging, and the service port was somewhat warm. She's going to have the oil changed and headlight repaired tomorow morning, so I'll be talking with the guys at the garage to see what they say. Will post my findings....
In your opening post... you stated you checked for Feron ?.. didn't you have pressure, did you use any gauges to check ? or did you just think you had freon and pressure ?
If the Condensor was the source leak, you should have had no pressure... you could have also used dye leak detector.

After my cam swap last year I had a similar problem. Nice cold air then it got hot. Turns out my coil is freezing up,,,,,,,,,, I think. Turn the AC off and wait a few minutes as it thaws and the AC works again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I had pressure, and we drained and added dye. Leaked at the compressor. Sadly. I honestly dont know how I had any pressure, w/ the problem being at the condensor. I did check about 3 months ago, so hopefully it wasnt something else and now a new, bigger issue has arisen.
