TB Bypass MOD: PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Please give me your technical expertise and feedback...
1. Some say do the MOD (cooler TB+cooler air)
2. Some say keep it stock (May freeze in cooler climates, air flows so fast it doesnt have time to heat up.)
I live in Colorado but my car is always garaged and I avoid bad weather at all costs...... (My older cars with carboraters never freezed, how can my TB freeze?)
PLEASE HELP...................
Thank you,
As for losing 2-5 HP on the dyno, there are SO many variables that could have attributed to this. Was he running AutoTap or some other scanning tool to make sure that he wasn't seeing a decrease in total timing at WOT? Was his coolant temp the same on both dyno runs? Also, it's perfectly normal to see a 2-3 RWHP difference on the dyno between runs. There are way too many variables that contribute to your final HP and TQ #'s that it's virtually impossible to see the exact same RWHP and RWTQ on every pull. You can't hold everything constant.
I say do the mod and don't look back. I do not see any feasible way that bypassing the TB will hurt performance. I did this mod on my T/A, and I also did it on my SS less than a week after buying it. It doesn't look like it has hurt my performance any.
