is installing macs on a 2000 a PITA

is installing macs on a 2000 a PITA anyone running this setup, please advise.
did you buy the air and egr pipes? if so, was it difficult to replace the pipes? the installers at speed inc. say that they just bend the factory tubes to fit. has anybody else done this and how stinkin' difficult is it?
i know i could get the LS6 intake or just do block-off plates, but you never know if this new hi-tech emmssions BS will start looking for deleted codes someday, and as far as the intake goes . . . i'm dirt po' <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
