I bought this kit looking for gains. I have a WS6 with the baffles removed and I did some autotapping with it. I let the car sit for 5 minutes and let the IAT get up to 80 degrees. I than took it down the highway up to 140 mph <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> and the IAT dropped only 3 degrees down to about 77.

I than did the same thing with my lid, same IAT at 80 degrees went down the road unleashing the beast up to 140mph again and this time the lid dropped all the way down to 71 degrees. This proved enough to me that on my car the FIPK sucks alot of hot air.
Also the Main reason a stock lid is restrictive is because of the neck leading into the MAf. Look at the Neck of the K&N it has a very narrow neck also leading into the maf just like the stock lid.
