Default threw a code

I got my 99 TA scanned today and the guy said It was that my knock retard sensor was reading low. We both think it is because of bad gas. Could this be correct? And is there anything I can do get rid of it sooner than to ride out the bad gas.

Thanks for any input.

I would bet you need to run out that old gas and get some yummy 100 octane in...or at least some 93 octane. Dont go gassing on it til you get that cheap **** out.

fuel has nothing to do with a knock sensor fault

If it is indeed a knock sensor code it's a wiring or sensor problem. Have you done any work to the car lately? Removed the intake? There's a connector as the back of the driver side head that connects the engine harness to the knock sensor harness. Should check to make sure it's plug in all the way.
