Default Fuel pump hum

My fuel pump is humming pretty loud. For some reason it does this every now and then and disappears for a while. I have only 4,000 miles on my fuel filter. And when I go around a corner or just swerve the noise stops suddenly, but then returns. Anyone else experience this before?

Somethings amiss in the fuel tank.
Bad fuel pump! The humming going away and coming back bothers me. Might be your 'root' problem. Here's a couple of things to look for;
sending unit assembly is moving/malfuntioning
I haven't seen inside a LS1 fuel tank yet, but if it has 'baffels' in it, they might be moving around, hitting fuel sending unit. Your gonna have to replace the pump. Might as well explore around to see what's up. Just my .02 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Mine would hum if I got down to about a 1/4 tank, this problem is common. There are no baffles in the tank, but the pump on 99 on cars is in a plastic enclosure, that somewhat acts like baffles.

Are the GM replacements any good or is there aftermarket ones that are much more reliable?

I have a new fuel pump in mine and it does the same thing. Had a fuel pump go bad and had to replace it with another AC Delco pump and I am getting the same problem every now and them with the hum and it goes off if you turn quickly and them when I straighten up it comes back on. I think it might be something loose but I don't really want to drop the tank again to see, the pump runs fine, it just hums.

Ours only does it if you have driven around for a while and the car is good and hot. Ours does it no matter how much gas is in it, but we have a friend with a 98 TA that does he exact same thing, only if the car is hot. We never let it get below 1/4 tank. We replaced it once after the first one just went out. The first one never made a peep.

I don't think it's anything bad.
