Default True duals through X/bullets, too loud?

I know, I change exhaust like some change underware. I've determined that the true duals through the bullets aren't really to my liking. The power is great, but I drive the car all the time when it is nice out, & the exhaust is getting on my nerves, being loud all the time. I cant get a race around here anymore, one of the factors being they are intimidated by the exhaust. I can only imagine what it is going to be like when I add the head & cam in a few weeks.

My plans are to find a 2 chamber or 3 chamber muffler (Flowmaster), with a 4" thick case (or smaller?). The bullets are 4", so I shouldn't loose much there. I just want a good sounding exhaust, without being overly loud. Looking for suggestions on the muffler.

I'm keeping the X-pipe. Future setup will be Grott LT, into true dual/X-pipe to dual cutouts (maybe electronically controled) (3" up to this point), then into 2.5" or 3" mufflers, before the axles, then over the axle with the pipe, to nice shinny tips.

After the head & cam, tuning will be done with LS1 Edit based on cutouts open, then with cutouts closed & through mufflers tuning with MAFT. (Will mufflers lean or richen the motor?) This way for full tilt, I can just unplug the MAFT & uncap the cutouts, and both ways will be at full potential.

Any & all thought appreciated. Really looking for thoughts on the type of muffler that will achieve what I am looking for, nice sound, & a thin case (4" or less) Thanks.

I've heard that ORPs + Flows on an LS1 sound horrible. I'd check into Dynomax and Hooker mufflers, IMO both of them make excelent sounding exhausts/mufflers.

I think adding mufflers would lean it out slightly. But i'd double check on that.

Look at the Dynomax Ultra Flo welded. There flow numbers are the same as the Bullets (according to the Dynomax website) and they have two styles. 6 in round vs. the Bullets 4in and "I think" that the other muffler is a 4.5 x 9 and they would allow you to keep the perfomance and quiten it down considerably. I would also give Magnaflo a look.
