Well, I read through some of the existing threads regarding hesitation problems and couldn't find an answer to my problem so I thought I'd post one of my own...
My car has a decent stumble around 1600-1800 RPM which clears up at about 2k. This is only under part throttle, and doesn't seem to effect WOT performance. I've hooked the car up to a friend's Autotap and there was nothing out of the ordinary as far as he could tell.
Also, if I'm driving the car normally and come to a stop light the idle will drop to about 400 then come back up to normal. Over the past 3 months it has happened bad enough a couple of times to actually kill the car.
So far we have tried a new air filter, plugs (though no wires), fuel filter, and idle relearn. Nothing has helped.
The car is a 99 Formula 6-speed with basic boltons and a little shot of nitrous. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter

Peter, I know it's a longshot, but my LT1 Formula had a bad part throttle surge at 1500rpm which was cured with a new EGR valve. I wonder if the same problem is happening on your LS1? It's worth a shot! Good to see you over here by the way old friend!

Good to see you too mang, you staying away from that "other" board? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
As for the EGR valve, it's worth a shot anyway. I have no clue at this point and it's really friggin annoying. Car died again today when I pulled to a stoplight. Between this and my clutch problems I'm about ready to light the thing on fire.

You might check the gasket around the EGR tube where it enters the intake manifold. Maybe get a new o-ring gasket and see if that helps. If you have taken that out, it might not have resealed properly. It happened to me after I did the !egr mod.
