Default straight duals or x / h pipe?

I am wanting to go to a dual exhaust setup but cant decide which one is better sound wise or power gains? i'll be running these from slp lt's, ORP's into bullet turndowns at the axle? which one will give the best of both worlds?

Don't do straight duals, you need the crossover to equalize the pressure. Xs are generally considered the best.

x-pipe make more hp than h-pipes. they both make more hp than completely separate straight pipes. actually, an x-pipe will decrease sound by about 6 db according to dr. gas. it also change the exhaust note to a more deaper rumble. imo x-pipes are the only way to go for a dual setup.

Should i go with the Dr. Gas 3 inch to match the collector size of the slp lt's or go with a 2.5 inch kit?

unless you are planning on making over 450 rwhp in the future, 2.5 is sufficient. 3" would be overkill and not neccessary. call dr gas and talk to them about it. i've heard they are very helpful. if i wasn't going to fabricate my own exhuast, that's who i would deal with. also, look in jegs at the headmen x-pipe kit they sell. it's 2.5 and i think it might be alittle cheaper than dr gas. do search for true duals, and look for the guy that bought all his pieces from dr. gas. it should be helpful.

I went with 2.5" and I'm very happy with it(X). It sounds great and makes excellent power - and it's not overly loud. Even with dumps. Pretty quiet actually.

Now, if you're planning heads/cam in the future, 3" is the way to go.

Does anyone make an aftermarket H pipe for the F body (dyno results on DOHC Cobras showed close to same hp levels, with the H outperforming the X down low). Someone has to try it here..
