fuel pump install?

fuel pump install? I purchased a used walbro 340 pump from our classified section. I just removed my tank and then removed the sending /fuel pump unit from the tank. I thought the pump was a direct replacement but it is smaller than the stock one the pick up were the sock goes is different also the plug is different. Do I have the right pump or what do I have to do to install this one? anyone that has done this theeat can give me some info or directions would be greatly appreciated. Re: fuel pump install? Well you got suckered into thinking it was no big deal. Yes the pump is smaller. You'll need to do some fabrication to get everything to fit.
I used the rubber sock that came with the Walbro and cut it to make it fit into the stock pump location snugly. I also modified the electrical connectors. I believe I used the sock pickup that came with the new pump. I also had to cut out the plastic line and replace it with the supplied rubber hose.
It's a little bit of work but overall not that big a deal.
