Different Header question!

Default Different Header question!

Ok, I've been contemplating mods. I have a NOS 100 dry shot, but I'm running too lean to spray, I've heard that headers will richen the motor out to an extent. So, my question is this, how much will which headers richen the motor out, or will shorties/midlength, and longtubes all do the same as far as that goes?

I'm not sure I would use headers to richen out a car. True they do help but to many variables to count on. Look into getting a MAFT & a set of headers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

My o2's went from about .900 to around .925-930 with SLP long tubes on the stock motor.

DO NOT use headers to richen out a car.

Not all cars get richer, mine sent me way lean, around 13.8-14.0 to 1

I went way rich with MACs...so sounds like it isn't a garuantee.
Get a MAF Translator to tune the A/F..cheaper than headers anyway.

You definitely need to get the car fattened up without headers. I would suggest going with larger injectors and a MAFT if you're going to stay with a dry kit.

Thanks everyone. Injectors shouldn't be a problem, they aren't near 100% yet, and it's a '98. I was planning on the MAFT and then headers later, I was just making sure that I wouldn't be just as good just using the MAFT money on headers.
So, now I know! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> MAFT Time.
