Default SLP LONG TUBES/Y PIPE

IM LOOKING TO PURCHASE A SET OF SLP LONG TUBES HEADERS FOR A 2000 WS6 TA. IN THE ADVERTISMENT IT SAIS THAT THE HEADERS COME WITH A 3 INCH Y PIPE,BUT THEN IT SAIS TO USE THIS PIPE YOU NEED TO EITHER USE THE HIGH FLOW CATS OR THE RACE PIPES? IS THIS TRUE OR CAN I JUST BOLT UP THE 3 INCH Y PIPE THAT COMES WITH THE HEADERS WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATIONS. ALSO HAS ANYBODY MADE THEIR OWN PIPE TO FIT ON THE Y PIPE WHERE THE CATS WOULD NORAMALLY BE MOUNTED. CAN I ALSO USE THE STOCK O2 ON THE HEADERS OR DO I NEED 02 SIMS. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

You would either need the High Flow or the off road pipe. I suppose you could get a section of exhaust pip made for the set up but it might cast as much as ORP. The y pipe comes about a foot short of reaching the headers and this is where the pipes go. as for O2's You use the stock fronts and if you use the High flow cats you can use the stock ones in back but you will not pass emissions. You will still set a code if you use the stock O2 in the back. I use a Simms in the back of mine but I'm thinking of putting the stock O2's back in so at least the cars computer can make adjustments to the reading when they get off.

Yes. You can use any 3" pipe to connect the headers and the Y-pipe. All an ORP is just that (off road pipe) - 3" pipe that connects the 2. If you use cats, you can reconnect the back set of O2s up. If you don't use cats, you need to use sims to prevent an SES light. The back 2 sims really don't do much any way.

I have about a 7"long (by 3") pipe that connects the headers and Y-pipe, held on by 'large' exhaust clamps. That way it take 4 bolts on each side to go straight off the headers -- racing only <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

The rear 02's do nothing for A/F adjustments. They only monitor cat function.
