Poor Numbers after torquer v2 install. ideas?
I just installed a torquer v2 last week and the car put up low numbers on the dyno (345.5 rwhp 328.5tq) Looking for Ideas on what I should check?
The car is a 98 M6 with 108,000 miles and the following mods
-torquer v2 cam 232-234 .595 .598
-ls6 intake
-pacesetter long tubes/no cats/flowmaster exhaust
-stock 98' heads with comp 918 valve springs (tsp hardened push rods)
-new GMPP lifters were installed with cam (timing chain/oil pump too)
-stock 98 fuel system with custom tune (a/f were high12s durring dyno run, timing set at 26 degrees)
-lid,air filter
-no egr
Since running car on the dyno I checked compression on all 8 cylinders. all 8 ranged from 162-170psi (seemed ok to me?)
one problem is the car seems to be picking up false knock from the new valve train and retarded the timing 3-4 degrees at times (no knock heard while this is happening) Heads were removed and cleaned durring install. I've heard the 98' heads don't flow very good, but I would still think the numbers shouldn't be that low
Anyone have some ideas?
Thanks,
Dan
but yeah...on a poor tune and a slipping clutch...i put down 382/375 with my Torquer V1

I'm going to make sure I have the correct length push rods and go from there. if the push rods are correct I may bite the bullet and try a set of ported heads to see if the car really wakes up
as far as pushrods go, you can try a 7.425. this is all dependent on if the heads were milled to clean them up at some point and the head gasket thickness

and good looking car iamsickofitall
Thanks! yeah, the cam sounds really good on a 112lsa with long tubes and no cats.. It still needs a little work with the tune. we're working on it.Have you checked exhaust back pressure on your car?? your A/F is all out of wack. at least your car is giving you some clues as to where the missing power is hiding
